Security Systems for Retail Stores in North Georgia

Retail businesses deal with shoplifting, internal theft, and after-hours break-ins every day. A well-placed security system reduces shrink and keeps your store protected around the clock.

What We Hear

Security Challenges Retail Stores Face

  • Shoplifting and Retail Shrink

Shoplifting is one of the biggest costs a retail business faces. Visible cameras throughout the sales floor and at exits change customer behavior. When people can see they are being recorded, most will think twice. And when theft does happen, clear footage gives you something to bring to law enforcement. Over time, a solid camera system pays for itself through reduced losses.

  • Internal Theft and Employee Accountability

A lot of retail shrink does not come from customers. Employee theft at the register, in the stockroom, or at the receiving dock is a real problem for retail businesses of every size. Cameras in the right places and access control on back-room doors create accountability without pointing fingers at anyone specific. Managers can review footage when something does not add up, and access logs show who was where and when.

  • After-Hours Break-Ins

Retail stores are a common target after closing, especially around the holidays or when valuable merchandise is visible from the street. A monitored alarm system means our monitoring company gets the signal the moment a door or window is breached, and police are dispatched within minutes. Exterior cameras also deter smash-and-grab attempts and give law enforcement the footage they need to follow up.

  • Controlling Access to Restricted Areas

Not every employee needs access to the stockroom, the back office, or wherever cash is stored. Keycard or keypad access control lets you set exactly who can go where. When an employee leaves, you remove their credentials the same day. No rekeying, no extra keys floating around. Access logs also tell you who entered a restricted area if something goes missing.

How It Works

Security Challenges Retail Stores Face

At Lint Security, every install starts with a site survey. We walk your store, look at the layout, and figure out where cameras need to go, which areas need access control, and how the alarm system should be set up. A boutique shop has different needs than a multi-room retail store, so we never assume.

For most retail stores, cameras go on the sales floor, at the entrance and exit, in the stockroom, and at the POS. Access control is usually on the stockroom door and any area where cash is kept. The alarm system covers entry points and adds motion detection after hours.

We handle all the wiring ourselves and walk your manager through the system before we leave. Here are the three services that cover most retail stores:

  • Security Camera Systems: HD cameras on the sales floor, at entry and exit points, and in the stockroom. View footage remotely from your phone or computer.
  • Access Control: Keycard or keypad access to stockrooms, offices, and cash areas. Every entry is logged automatically.
  • Security Systems: Monitored burglar alarms and door contacts that alert our monitoring company the moment something triggers after hours.

Why Lint Security

We're Not Here to Make a Sale. We're Here to Earn Your Trust.

Anyone can sell you a security system. Not everyone will still be there when something goes wrong ten years later. We will be.

  • Family Owned and Operated

National companies sell accounts, close branches, and route you to out-of-state call centers. Lint Security has been here since 1985 and grew entirely on word of mouth.

  • Our People. Start to Finish.

From the first call to the final installation, every person you interact with is a Lint employee. Not a contractor. Not a call center. Someone who works here every day.

  • A real person calls and text

When your alarm goes off, our monitoring partner Criticom calls you right away. If you do not answer, they send police or fire. No app alert. A real person.

  • We visit before we quote

ADT and Vivint sell you a package over the phone. We come to your property first and build a system around what you actually need.

  • Licensed and Certified

We hold a GA LVA license plus Access Control, and CCTV certifications. Every job is done by our own technicians.

Have Questions? We Have Answers.

Security is a significant decision. Most people have questions before they're ready to call. Here are the ones we hear most.

See all FAQs
  • How do security cameras reduce shoplifting in a retail store?

Visible cameras change behavior. Most people who might consider shoplifting will not do it if they can clearly see they are being recorded. Cameras also document what happens when theft does occur, giving you footage to bring to law enforcement. We position cameras to cover the highest-risk areas: entry and exit points, merchandise displays, and fitting rooms if applicable.

  • What areas of a retail store need access control?

At minimum, the stockroom and any area where cash is stored. If you have a back office, that should be on access control too. Keycard systems let you assign access by role, so a part-time sales associate does not have the same access as a manager. When someone leaves, you remove their credentials the same day with no rekeying needed. Our access control page covers how these systems work in more detail.

  • Do retail stores need a monitored alarm system or just cameras?

Both. Cameras document what happens. A monitored alarm is what actually triggers a response. When an alarm goes off, our monitoring company calls within seconds and dispatches police if needed. Cameras alone do not call anyone. For a retail business that closes overnight, monitored protection is what keeps a break-in from turning into a major loss. Our commercial security systems page walks through the alarm options.

  • Can I manage my retail store's security system from my phone?

Yes. You get access to the app to view cameras, check system status, and see who armed or disarmed the building. If you have multiple retail locations, you can manage all of them from one place. Our security monitoring page explains how remote access and professional monitoring work together.

  • Do you install security systems for retail stores across North Georgia?

Yes. We work with retail businesses across the region, including Gainesville, Cornelia, Cleveland, Dahlonega, and surrounding areas. Contact us to schedule a site survey at your store.
