Commercial fire alarms are a code requirement in Georgia, but code compliance is the floor, not the goal. The goal is early detection. Catching a fire while it is still small is the difference between a manageable incident and a total loss. That means the right combination of smoke detectors, heat detectors, and water flow alarms, installed correctly and tested regularly.
What's Included
Six core features specified and installed to match your building, your hours, and your risk points. Not a default package.
All systems are designed and installed to meet current NFPA 72 commercial fire code requirements in Georgia. We have been doing commercial fire alarm work since 1985 and we know what inspectors expect.
Ceiling-mounted smoke detectors and flame detectors positioned and zoned based on your building layout, occupancy type, and square footage. Placement is designed to detect early, not just to pass an inspection.
If your building has a sprinkler system, a water flow alarm monitors it continuously and triggers an alert the moment water begins moving through the pipes, whether from a fire or an unexpected leak.
Your system sends an automatic test signal every day to confirm it is communicating and functional. You are not waiting for a quarterly inspection to find out something stopped working.
Heat detectors are installed in areas where smoke detectors are not appropriate, including commercial kitchens, boiler rooms, and high-dust environments. They trigger on a fixed temperature threshold rather than smoke particles, which eliminates false alarms in those spaces while maintaining reliable detection.
Manual pull stations are installed at exit routes per NFPA 72 so occupants can trigger the alarm manually during an emergency. Horn and strobe notification devices are placed throughout the building to meet code requirements for audibility and visibility in every occupied area.

Why Lint Security
Large national companies win on price. We win on everything that happens after the install. If your system goes off at 2 a.m. on a Sunday, you're not calling a call center. You're calling us, here in Gainesville.
The Equipment
We install equipment that is built and rated for commercial use. Every brand we carry is specified for the kind of application it performs best in.
Honeywell has been the benchmark in commercial fire detection for decades. Their equipment is recognized by monitoring centers and building inspectors alike, and the Vista series alarm panels are one of the most widely installed in the industry for a reason: they work, and they keep working.

Napco is built for commercial environments where systems run around the clock and downtime isn’t an option. Their fire alarm devices are designed for complex installations and long-term performance, with minimal maintenance required once the system is in place.

See all FAQsMost commercial buildings in Georgia are required to have a fire alarm system that meets current code. The specific requirements depend on your building size, occupancy type, and local jurisdiction. If you are unsure what applies to your building, we can help sort through that during the site survey.
A smoke alarm is a standalone device that sounds locally when it detects smoke. A commercial fire alarm system is a network of detectors, pull stations, notification devices, and a control panel, all connected and typically tied to a monitoring center that dispatches help when an alarm activates. For most commercial buildings, a standalone smoke alarm does not meet code requirements.
NFPA 72 requires commercial fire alarm systems to be inspected and tested at least once per year, with some individual components requiring more frequent testing. Certain local jurisdictions require semi-annual inspections. We can set up a service and inspection schedule based on your system type and location.
NFPA 72 is the National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code, the standard that governs how commercial fire alarm systems must be installed and maintained across the United States. Compliance is required for most commercial properties in Georgia and is what building inspectors reference when they review your system.
