Your system sends an immediate signal to Criticom, our UL-listed monitoring center. A live operator calls you within 10 seconds to verify the event. If they cannot reach you, or if you confirm an emergency, they dispatch police, fire, or medical services to your address. You do not have to call 911. That is handled for you.
What is the difference between app access and professional monitoring?
App access, through Alarm.com or your system’s manufacturer app, lets you view cameras, arm and disarm your system, and get notifications on your phone. Professional monitoring through Criticom is a separate service that operates 24/7 regardless of whether your phone is nearby. When an alarm triggers, Criticom responds in seconds and dispatches. The app notifies you. Criticom acts on it.
What does UL-listed monitoring mean?
UL (Underwriters Laboratories) is a globally recognized safety certification organization. A UL-listed monitoring center has been independently verified to meet strict standards for response time, staffing, redundancy, and reliability. Not all monitoring centers carry this designation.
What if my phone line gets cut or the power goes out?
This is exactly why we install radio backup on every monitored system. If your phone line is cut or your internet goes down, the radio backup ensures the monitoring center still receives your signals. Power outages are covered by your battery backup. We do not leave gaps in coverage.
Do I have to sign a long-term contract for monitoring?
That is a fair question to ask any security company before you commit. Call us directly and we will walk you through exactly what our monitoring plan includes. No surprises.
